Major Ray Bates began his career with Jackson County Sheriff's Department in 1991 when he was hired as a deputy in the Patrol Division. In 2000 he has promoted to Captain in the Criminal Investigations Division until his 2009 transfer to the Adult Detention Center. He was promoted to Major of Corrections in early 2013. He served as Chief Deputy from January 2014 until January 2015. Major Bates is currently Major of Operations and Special Operation. Major Bates is a graduate of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Command College and also the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA.
Major Michael Wright began his career with Jackson County Sheriff's Department in 1996 when he was hired as a deputy at the Adult Detention Center. In 2003 he was promoted to Sergeant at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center until he was transferred to the Jackson County Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division later that year. In 2009 and he was promoted to Lieutenant and transferred to the Adult Detention Center as the Investigator. In late 2010 he was promoted to Captain in the Patrol Division until his transfer to Process Division Captain in 2012. In 2013 he was made acting Director of the ADC which he remained until his promotion to Major of Corrections in 2016. In 2018 Major Wright transferred to the Enforcement Division.
