Michael Dykes


Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Mississippi State University in 2000. He obtained his law degree from The University of Mississippi in 2009, and he was admitted to practice in Mississippi the same year. Dykes served one year as a law clerk for the 16th Chancery Court District in Jackson County, and then he worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Harrison County for the following four years. Dykes was Commissioned at Marion Military Institute in 1998, and he has over 18 years of active and reserve military service. Dykes has served on three combat tours in Bosnia and Iraq, and he currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He is currently serving as the Battalion Commander for the 1st Battalion 155th Combined Arms Battalion “Mississippi Rifles.” Dykes was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney for the 19th Judicial District in August 2015.
