NeShondria Ellerby


“Shon” was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Psychology from the University of Virginia in 2000, and a Juris Doctorate from Regent University School of Law (Virginia Beach, VA) in 2007. She was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2007, and began her legal career as an associate attorney at Zoby, Broccoletti, & Normile, P.C. Prior to moving to Mississippi, she served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for five years in the Office of the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney. While in Norfolk, Shon was a member of the inaugural Community Prosecution Center team where she served as the Community Courts Liaison, working with the Drug Court, Mental Health Court, and the Re-entry Docket programs. Most recently, Shon was a sole practitioner at Ellerby Law, LLC and served as the City Prosecutor for the City of Moss Point, Mississippi. She was elected president of Jackson County Young Lawyers in 2014. Shon is a member of the Virginia State Bar, Mississippi Bar Association, Jackson County Bar Association, Jackson County Young Lawyers Association (secretary), and the Magnolia Bar Association (assistant secretary). She is married to Moss Point native Clifford Ellerby.
