Cherie Wade


Cherie Rivera Wade is a native of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She graduated from Mercy Cross High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Louisiana State University. Cherie attended Mississippi College School of Law, where she was the recipient of the Gayle and Victor Mavar scholarship and was the inaugural recipient of the LSU-MC Law scholarship. At MC Law, she was a STAR mentor, a member of the Women’s Bar Association, and a member of the Moot Court Board. She earned her Juris Doctor degree in 2009, graduating in the top 11% of her class. Cherie is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association and served as the Chair of the Prosecutor’s Section from 2014-2015.  She is also a member of the Jackson County Bar Association, the Jackson County Young Lawyers’ Association, and the Mississippi Prosecutors Association. She is currently serving as the President of the Mississippi Prosecutors Association and is the past Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer.  She has also served on the MPA Board of Directors, the Legislative Committee, and the Curriculum committee since 2011. Cherie has volunteered as the coach for the Gautier High School Mock Trial Team and has served as a judge for the Mississippi High School Mock Trial Competition. Cherie and her husband, Matthew, are members of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church.
