On May 18, 2020 Jackson County offices reopened to the public with physical distancing and other important guidelines in place. Signs are posted asking visitors not to enter County buildings or offices if they have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID -19 in the past 14 days, or experienced any of the following in the past 48 hours: had a fever or felt feverish, coughing, shortness of breath, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. County employees are required to participate in a daily screening which involves measuring their temperature and assessing symptoms prior to the start of work. A few Departments may screen visitors as well.
We remind residents that many of the County’s services can be handled by phone, email, or online at www.co.jackson.ms.us. Please consider contacting the department before visiting in person to help reduce unnecessary in-person contact.

OTHER FREQUENTLY USED COUNTY OFFICES - The following offices are open to the public unless otherwise noted
The Jackson County Board of Supervisors, along with the Office of Emergency Services, and County Administrator office, continue to work closely with other cities, counties, and health related agencies within the County and State to make the best decisions regarding necessary precautions and future actions based on current information.
It is extremely important that everyone follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the MS Department of Health to reduce the chances of transmitting the virus.
Beginning Thursday, March 19, the County began operating with limited staffing by utilizing flexible schedules in an effort to minimize the interaction and risk of transmitting COVID -19 between employees and members of the public. Specific schedules for the most frequently used County Departments can be viewed by opening the above link. Most of our offices, including those not listed, are only being handled via phone or email so individuals are encouraged to call the office they are trying to reach before going in person as many services can be handled online or over the phone. In addition, available in-person services may, and will most likely, change as we receive more information about COVID-19.
We are continuing to take steps to keep our facilities clean and limit person-to-person contact as much as possible in an effort to keep everyone safe.
The County is also asking residents to help us in these efforts by doing the following if you HAVE to come into our offices:
