[ARCHIVED] Notice of Advertisement for County Prosecutor to be Appointed by Board of Supervisors

Advertisement of County Prosecutor Position

The County Prosecutor is responsible for appearing and representing the county in investigations for felony crimes before the various justice court judges in the county in accordance to the laws of Mississippi and Jackson County policies and procedures.

The County Prosecutor will be the attorney for the county court and shall prosecute all county criminal cases and shall represent the county in criminal cases appealed from county court to circuit court. The County Prosecuting Attorney may also assist the District Attorney in all criminal and civil cases where the services of the District Attorney in which the state, county or any municipality of the county is interested. The County Prosecuting Attorney shall have full responsibility for all misdemeanors, youth court proceedings, and all other cases not specifically granted to the District Attorney.

Juris Doctor Degree is required.  Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Mississippi.  

All resumes should be submitted to the Jackson County Board Attorney’s Office, 2915 Canty Street, Pascagoula, MS 39567, no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday December 21, 2018.
