Long Term Residents

Jackson County Animal Shelter has 87 large dog runs, 52 cat cages, and 15 small dog cages. Unfortunately, almost all of these cages are filled with animals every day. But the staff at the animal shelter have an unfailing love for these animals and go above and beyond to save lives. Some animals stay in the shelter longer than others. As of October 1st, 2018, we have two residents, Chicha and Butterscotch that have been in the shelter for 20 weeks.

Butterscotch is a two-year-old hound mix that is house trained, great with kids and other dogs and has a very sweet disposition.

Chicha is a two-year-old Lab/Pointer mix that loves to play and is very friendly to all.

Either of these two dogs would be a great addition to a loving family!
